Hello everyone, Danielle here, the original holistic health nut. I announced a couple of weeks back that there was a holistic health blog in the works. In order to be completely transparent with you all, I have to tell you since then I have been battling with myself and having a bit of an identity crisis if you will. Thoughts such as; “Who am I to give advice on nutrition and wellness?”, “Nutrition is what I studied and am certified to do, but I am far from perfect.”, “I don’t always follow my own advice.”, “I don’t always eat the right thing.”, and “I too struggle to be consistent sometimes.” These are the thoughts, feelings, and fears that began flooding in. I, like most of you, am often my own biggest critic. I am far from perfect, but I do put forth my best effort to always have a mindset rooted in growth, health, and authenticity. This is the me I want you guys to see, not some prefabricated version. I am not interested in selling bullshit like “what I eat in a day being a holistic nutritionist.” I am not here to act as though I am perfect and always follow the perfect diet, regimen, or routine; because I don’t. I am no better than any other person, I’m just doing my best and trying to always put in the work. We are all human and no one, not even nutritionists follow the perfect diet all of the time. I aim to be relatable, real, and to help those of you that at times find it hard to prioritize your health. Life gets busy and sometimes it is tricky to find the time and space for the important things. Unfortunately it is pretty common that when our lives get busy the first thing to get put on the back burner is our own health. We allow so many other things to take priority over our health and then we struggle to pour from an empty cup. I am here to share my passion for nutrition, growth, and to offer realistic ways to create and incorporate healthier habits. I am here to tell you there are ways to simplify prioritizing these things and it doesn’t include depriving yourself. All of this with the hope that this information is found useful and helps others cultivate healthier lifestyles.
I have been struggling to be okay with making money educating others on nutrition, because I believe this is a human right and something we should all be taught and have access to. Most of us have been failed by a society that doesn’t teach us one of the most important and basic aspects of how to live a healthful life. I want to create a space where everyone, regardless of who you are or whether or not you can afford my services, can come to learn. I came to the realization that although I myself do not always follow the perfect diet, I am educated on what the right choices are, what foods are harmful, and how to use nutrition as a method of healing. This means that I am aware of the choices I am making whenever I choose to or not to eat something. Most people are completely unaware of what the right and wrong choices are, or just how much the wrong choices are affecting them. This is valuable information that everyone deserves to have access to regardless of whether or not they can afford to hire a nutritionist. This is what I have to offer my readers; a safe space to come to learn and find healthy recipes, information regarding supplements, fun informational “how to’s”, and stories regarding travel and nutrition.
For those of you interested in a more in depth and “specific to you” guide to nutrition and holistic wellness. I plan on continuing to offer free initial consultations for prospective clients, running specials throughout the year, and always keeping my rates affordable and realistic. Personalized nutrition is extremely beneficial for people who are; looking to learn how to manage a condition through diet, struggling to stay consistent with their eating habits, have a broken or toxic relationship with food, need one on one support, want a natural alternative, looking to learn how to use nutrition as a preventative, or want to learn how and what to eat in order to obtain their health goals. With all of that being said I am so excited to start sharing some stories with you all. I have been traveling quite a lot these days, seven countries in the span of a month to be more specific. It has been a whirlwind and I can’t wait to spill the tea on some of the things that I’ve seen, experienced, and learned since being in Europe. It has been quite the journey so far and my experience can only be described as every bit beautiful, exhilarating, stressful, busy, and encapsulating. But that is all for another time, you will just have to wait until next time!
